General information and terms and conditions of the Kulturbüro Arnsberg (Office of Culture Arnsberg)
1. Enrolling in courses of the Phantasiewerkstatt (Fantasy Workshop) and of the Kunstsommer Arnsberg (Summer of Arts)
You may register for courses via internet (www.kulturaufkurs.de), email, fax, phone or personally at the Kulturbüro Arnsberg (Office of Culture). You will not receive any confirmation of registration.
All registrations are binding. Any person registering for courses/events is obliged to pay the fee as stated in the programme. You may pass on your registration to another person in accordance with the terms of participation.
If the minimum number of participants required has not been reached, it is at the sole discretion of the promoter to cancel the course. In this case you will be informed beforehand. By registering early you can help assure that a course/workshop will take place. There may also be a possibility to offer additional workshops in case of high demand.
2. Reduction on course fees
For all Kunstsommer-Workshops: by registering before the date stated in the workshop programme or on the internet, there is a 10% early bird discount. The reduction for students of the Musikschule HSK is – if stated – 10%. Each member can only claim reduction for one workshop.
A reduction may also be given for social reasons. Please contact us for details.
3. Cancellations from workshops/courses
Cancellations must be submitted in writing or via email (email@example.com) at the Kulturbüro Arnsberg (Office of Culture Arnsberg) and must not be submitted to the trainer. The Kulturbüro Arnsberg must be informed in advance about any short-term cancellations (up to 3 working days prior to the beginning of a workshop) via phone.
4. Creative Workshops for Children
Cancellations, (without giving reasons), are free of charge when submitted at least 7 days prior to the beginning of the workshop. After this period of time you must pay the full amount of the fee.
5. Adult workshops or parent-child Creative Workshops:
Cancellations, (without giving any reasons), are free of charge when submitted at least 14 days prior to the beginning of a workshop. After this period of time you must pay the full amount of the fee.
Special arrangement for all courses by Arno Mester: the course/workshop fee is due on the day of registration. There will be a 20% cancellation fee for cancellations up to 14 days prior to the commencement of the workshop. After this period of time you must pay the full amount of the fee.
6. Kunstsommerworkshops (Summer of Art workshops):
Cancellations up to 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the workshop will be charged at 20% of the course fee. Cancellations up to 5 weeks prior to workshop will be charged at 50% of the course fee. After this period of time you must pay the full amount of the fee.
In genuinely justified cases, the town of Arnsberg reserves the right to cancel a workshop up to 4 weeks prior to beginning of the workshop. The cancellation of a workshop/course before or while a workshop/course is taking place may occur due to force majeure, or any other reasons the course organiser cannot be held responsible for. Should a workshop or course be cancelled, fees will be refunded in full. Any further rights to claims, in particular claims for damages against the course organiser, are excluded.
If the Office of Culture replaces a lecturer/trainer with a person of equal qualification, this does not release the course participant from the duty of payment. Furthermore, the venue for the workshop / course, (which course room e.g.) will be announced in due time. The Office of Culture also reserves the right to make any organisational changes to the workshops.
8. Accountability and “House Rules”
Participation in courses of the “Office of Culture Arnsberg” is at your own risk. The “Office of Culture” cannot be held liable for any damages, accidents, loss or theft.
As the “Office of Culture” sometimes uses school rooms for the courses, the participants are asked to respect any rules or regulations of the house of the respective school. Smoking is not allowed in all course rooms.
Promotion of any ideological, party political and economical interests throughout the workshops of the Phantasiewerkstatt and the Kunstsommer are prohibited.
9. Retention of personal data
To help organise cultural events an automated software for data processing is used. When registering for a course the participant gives his consent for the storage and processing of necessary data. Without the participant’s consent for data storage and processing registration cannot be completed.
When registering, the following data will be stored: course title, course fee, course number, surname, first name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address and, in case you have issued a direct debit authorisation, your bank details.
In case of the direct debit authorisation any necessary data is forwarded to the town’s treasurer.
10. Image rights
The „Office of Culture“ reserves the right to take photos in all workshops/events and of any work of art and make use of this image material for documentation and publicity work of the Phantasiewerkstatt and Kunstommer.
In case individual terms of this contract become inoperative, this will not affect the remaining terms of this contract.
The ineffective regulation is to be replaced with an effective one which comes closest to the intended purpose of both parties and is closest to the ineffective regulation from a commercial point of view.
12. SEPA direct debit mandate
The course fee is only payable with the SEPA direct debit mandate. To register to a course successfully you are obliged to participate in the SEPA direct debit mandate.
